I'm looking at Faustus's first and opening soliloquy. My lecturer has never pointed this out, but I do believe there is a great amount of irony in the fact that Faustus did his degree in Theology and then he goes on to momenterily reject God (although he still acknowledges him). Am I correct?
Also, I find it difficult to express what exactly Faustus is doing to religion - I always say 'reject' - is this correct? Or is it a bit too strong because he still acknolwedges God's existance?
