I'm so mad. Why Martin Lawrence hasn't won an Oscar?

I expected last night to be the night when the Academy finally was going to recognize his achievements as an actor. Shame on the academy!
 
You expected? He wasn't even nominated.Maybe he should take a role that actually shows off his chops as an actor.
 
What movie did he have come out in the last year that was Oscar worthy?- I believe you have be in a movie within the year, and you have to be nominated at that for even a chance to win.
 
I know there are so many greats overlooked for the best actor.. Seagal, Van Damme, Knoxville, Kutcher, Braff, Schwarzenegger. The list goes on. For some reason they keep giving awards to people that can act and until that changes Lawrence is always unfairly going to miss out ;-)
 
There is no point in your getting mad. Nominations for Oscars are voted by 6700 members of the cademy of Motion picture Arts and Sciences. The nominates are duly audited by a reputed concern like KPMG who reveals just he 5 top contenders in each category. Technical categories are decided by the respective trade associations - like for cinematography, it is decided by the members of ASC (American Cinematographers Association). So, Martin not getting an Oscar so far goes to prove, he has some distance to go before he can achieve the milestone.However the irony of this system is, let us say a person has performed exceedingly well in 2008, and there is another person who has outperformed him and got the award. The first person's effort has gone down the memory lane, because in subsequent years that performance will never be considered for an award again

Yes, because Martin Lawrence chooses such epic films. (insert sarcasm anywhere)Don't be surprised if he does win one sometime. The Academy might as well start handing them out. I lost all faith in the Oscars when Jennifer Hudson won one.
 
I don't think "College Road Trip" will ever be considered an Oscar-worthy performance.Call me crazy.
 
What could he be nominated for? Comedians are not nominated, the Oscars are based on serious stuff, not funny.
 
I dont remember him coming out with anything last year that did well in theaters. Thats may be why he didnt get anything.
