I'm so fucking lazy.

I've had a long time to practice a piece I'm playing on a piano in a concert next week on saturday. A really fucking long time. The piece has to be ready by this friday though because then my teacher will decide wether she'll let me play it. So, I've played it form time to time for like the past 6 months, together with a lot of others (I've got an exam on them after the concert as well). Now it seems to be not ready, and it's my fault. Shit. And I just get more and more pissed at myself so my playing gets worse.

The rest of the pieces are in the condition that I'll probably pass the exam but they suck, I would never even try to play them for an audience. Also because I've been too lazy to practice. Not that I wouldn't have had time, I just would go do something else.

Also I've got a swedish word test (not big) for which I started practicing and then thought "Oh fuck, who cares?" and just read through the words once.

Well, there's my rant, not really that big a problem but I feet like I need to vent. Thanks for reading. I'm off to eat and practice the shitty piece.

I can think about it, though I'm not too good at this and I don't have any good recording devices. In Finland the exam I'll have soon is called the "level 3" or "3/3" exam, which isn't much really(imo). Well, I'll think about it. Btw, just to warn you, it's classical (J.S.Bach).

Oh shit I do that all the damn time. Like last week a project was due. I had 2 months to work on it and just started it on the friday before it was due lol! It's called procrastination. Gets the best of us.

But I'm sure you'll do great, be positive!

Yeah, thanks. Many people do it but I had managed to avoid it for the past couple of years but now it's making a comeback. Damn. Especially now, the dirt season has started so staying at home doing schoolwork or even practicing the piece gets annoying.. It's been getting better and I think I'll have it done by tommorow.

e: Damn, the recording sounds awful. Can someone give me a link to some place where I can mirror it?

I don't think you're lazy. It takes a lot to just learn to play the piano. I think you just weren't very motivated to practice that particular piece. I'm sure you'll do fine though if you can play something from J.S.Bach in the first place. The extend of my piano abilities is, mary had a little lamb, the Peanuts theme song, and another song I can't remember the name of. (It is classical, but it's very easy.) So I give you props for just doing what all you've done.

I haven't been too motivated about playing the piano that much, but well, since King Goldfish asked here it is. The recording sucks, it's mono (I think). I also made a small mistake but didn't bother to rerecord... And you can criticise, but I don't want comments like "You suck!" or "You're good!", if you tell me that you like/dislike it then also tell me why. My personal opinion is that it isn't that good, but it doesn't suck completely

It's right here.

well i'm listening to it as i type, its good! i love classical, huge fan of bach, plus others who's names i can't spell! good thing i'm in college. anyhoo, so in your school you have to play piano and get tested on it? what grade are you in? well i think thats cool, wish i took piano, my mom always wanted me too, but i was too cool for piano. now i regret it. oh well, what can ya do?

plus being lazy is not wanting to walk around the corner to get your car so you can drive half a block to get a chocolate bar. so i think your good, probably just tired of playing the same peice all the time. good luck on your mark/ grading.

First, thanks.

Actually I don't play in my school, it's a music school (piano, violing, gitar, singing etc, mostly classical), though it would also be possible to play in my school, it's a high-school with a music line (or whatever they call it, so we have students doing the normal high-school and students that have the more important parts of normal high school + a lot of music classes, but the "normal" people can take music courses as well).

So I'm a freshman in high-school, but there are no real grades in the music school, just the skill levels. So my next test is 3/3, I already passed the theory part with a grade of 4/5, only the playing itself to come soon. Then the next level is "the big 1", but the test will be in like 3+ years, it's a big jump from 3/3.

I had the phase where I was "too cool for piano" and wanted to quit (started playing when I was 4, but had lots of pauses), and I had a break, but then I went to piano lessons again. It's good to have a break once in a while, but luckily there's the summer vacation.

Well, I usually am pretty hard-working, at least judging by my reasults (I don't want to start saying that I'm talented), so not practicing every day during school time is lazy for me, but I got your point. :D

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its all comming together now. well you are tallented, i think it sounded good. well i'm not too cool now to start playing piano, but i'm too lazy:tongue: maybe if you toss beer into the lesson i might. for now i'll stick to spinning poles :D (take that however you want ;) )

why would i bame ya? hey have you even done you concert thingy yet? was i late with my awesome inspiration? well i was gone for a while so i'm late on all my advice!
