Okay this can get complicated so I'm gonna break it down step for step.
(I'm in the military so I move around a lot)
- I bought my first car in Illinois about a year ago
- I moved to Virginia and still have my car
- I'm moving to Hawaii and need to sell my car
- My car is registered and the title is through Illinois DMV
- My bank is my lean holder on the car and I still owe about 8k on the car
- I contacted my bank and they said after the check from the buyer goes through it can take up to 30 days for me to receive the Title on the car so I can sign it over to the buyer.
Okay question time:
- What documents will I need to sell my car in a different state than where its registered
- Is there anyway to speed up the process to get the buyer the title quicker
- Will the new buyer be able to drive the car
- What documents will I need to be able to sell the car i.e bill of sale, ext.
- I've never sold a car before. I really have no idea what to do so any extra info you think I'll need would be appreciated as well.
