...instead ?...? I'm nervous. It's deff. going to be a challenge for me. I'm taking 2 other AP's & the rest honors. Take into consideration that I'm not the brightest person. This would be pushing myself. I'm also going to be intimidated by the really smart people around me. Will the teacher call on us a lot in class? I really hope not. Is it a lot of reading? Do the teachers really teach us... or do we have to teach ourselves. Please help me out!!!

Thanks so much........ <3

First take a deep breath, You are going to hate Ap World at first but then you are going to end loving it. It opens up your eyes to the whole word and i reallly mean it. you are going to end up thinking differently after it

To prep for the class, what you should do is get the Princeton Review Book i get one for every Ap class. The Book is gonna give you a since of what you really need to specify one.

Usually Ap World is boot camp for other Aps
you are going to write a lot and read a lot. at first it is going to feel like hell but your reading speed is going to pick up big time and you will be writting an essay in less then 30 minutes trust me if you get the book, pay attention in class and listen to your teacher you are set.

Ok tons of reading, like tons. But if you find history mildly entertaining at all, it's not the most boring thing you will learn about. I thought the AP textbook was actually really well written, some of it is rather comical. In my AP class the hardest thing was writing the essays, if you are a strong essay writer, go for it, if not I would reconsider. All you really need to do well is be able to read, retain information, pay attention in class, & write essays - with that you should be able to do well on the AP with a little studying. And as far as teachers go, that all depends on your school, I had a great history teacher, but because I got lazy and didn't read the chapters I made a C in the class. Remembering details is very important!

If history is one of your strongest subjects, and you're good with reading and remembering things, then stick with AP. But yes, it is a lot of reading and even writing. The teachers vary in the way they teach, but be aware that they can't teach everything from the book in class, simply because there isn't enough time. They only teach the important parts. The rest is up to you to self-study.

But since you do have 2 other aps and honors classes, I would give it another thought. APUSH is one of the more time-consuming APs.
