I'm planning to get Dance Dance Revolution, but what would I need to set it up?

It's played with a wii console right? I'm the opposite of technologically savy so I have no idea what things I need to buy and how much it would cost (approximately) lol
It seems as if there's different versions too... I just want the one with the dance mat that you can dance along with the arrows on the screen.
Which is the best/cheapest version? Wii, PS3 etc...
