Hello! I am painting my CHROME rims black and i have several options for paint. I can buy duplicolor wheel paint or duplicolor high heat engine paint (or any other paint at oreily's, napa, farm and fleet, etc.) . I have heard of people using both. So here's where you guys/girls come in: Which kind paint should i use? What should i do about my rims being chrome? Thanks for the help!
its not at home, we own a shop and i have cleaned them up rather good with a wire grinder. The reason i am painting them is A) they were rusting (before i ground it off) and B) i don't have enough money to buy some new rims. They aren't like chrome plated, it is more like a chrome film on them. They are american eagle rims made around the 1990s

You are making a huge mistake by painting over your chrome rims as paint will not adhere. The chrome surface is too slick for paint to stick. The chrome plating must be removed (which costs a lot of money and cannot be done at home) before you can paint your rims. Paint from autoparts stores is some of the lowest quality paint available. Duplicolor is junk. If you want painted rims, sell yours and buy some or trade someone. Do not use rattlecan crap on your chrome rims.
