But does anyone know the formula for estimating temperature by counting cricket chirps?

The formula was, IIRC, the number of chirps in a 15-second interval plus a constant, but I have forgotten.

Former Boy Scouts with better memories than mine might know this...

Also you good people here who camp out, I'm hoping.

Count the chirps in 14 seconds, then add 40.

This is for degrees Fahrenheit.
