Im Not Being Funny, Right...

It was verbal abuse and the allegations were made by his 2 estranged relatives

What's it like under your bridge grabbi? Seen the billy goats gruff lately?

And what on earth is the relevance of that to your original post. (Please note correct spelling of your, you ****ing trolling ****!).

What the hell? This shows your attitude? "a cheap knock off"?

Batman Begins was a superb film with superb performances. It emphasised drama just as much as action. Many people were naturally in anticipation of the sequel.

Has Heath Ledger's death given the film more press? Yes. Has this caused more people to watch the film than would already done so? I doubt it.

I loved Batman Begins and i was looking forward to TDK long before Heath Ledger died, but i strongly believe that the films' ticket sales have (i hate to say it) "benefited" from his passing. I've actually spoken to numerous women who have suddenly shown interest in seeing TDK purely because it is Heath Ledger's last complete performance, so it has definitely caused/will cause more people to see it than would have.

it will literally be a travesty if heath ledger don't get a oscar or nomination at least! i've never really seen his work before this, but OMG i have never seen a performance so captivating since Tom Hanks in Forest Gump! he was absolutly amazing and it's gutting after seeing the film that it's his last hurrah! still can't get "Why So Serious!" out of my head it's haunting! lol

I haven't seen the film yet but i keep wondering whether the film would have been so successful if it wasn't for Heath Ledger. But i have seen clips and, to me, it looks like his performance will be fantastic.

Ledger deserves all of the plaudits he is getting (although he's not here to get them). His performance is captivating.

Quit your jibber jabber fool!!
My goodness me....very shouty shouty in here!

Heath Ledger is an absolutely bloody fantastic actor and deserves all the credit he is getting! I haven't seen TDK and probably will wait to see it on dvd (need to watch B Begins first...) but the hype has surely come from somewhere right?

All the actor that work on the film have said that their Oscar vote is going to him and why shouldn't it? They're entitled to vote for whomever they please. After all, they would have worked with him from the initial read through through to fiming on set and seen how he developed the character. Therefore they know best.

You really havent taken much time to research into this at all..

he didnt die because he was a drug addict... it was an accidental overdose on sleeping pills.

2nd. This film isnt a remake, its a bran new Batman movie... and it has the Joker in... this was always going to be the biggest movie of the summer!!!
It was very much hyped up before Heath died.

From what I can tell, is youve just read a line in the telegraph and run with it!

Do some propper research into your arguements before making bold claims!

I totally agree with the OP on this.

I was actually gonna start a thread on this too.

Heath Ledgers performance was pretty fantastic in Batman but the critics are only saying this because he's basically dead.

If he was alive, they would have most probably said his performance was S**t.

This is why i don't listen to the critics. People take them too seriously and get put off films by them.

Well your memory isn't very good, is it?

What's with these "remakes" you keep mentioning? Do you think TDK is a remake of the 1960's film staring Adam West?

to the op... i asked my friend that today

i've no doubt he is brilliant in it, as he was in every other role he's played

but i just can't help thinking if the film would be so huge if he was still alive

You have just put me right off this movie. Forrest Gump was nauseating IMO, I was so looking forward to DK.:(

back on topic, I think Heath Ledger has definitely received exaggerated hype for his acting abilities due to his premature death, this is not unusual cf: James Dean, River Phoenix.

And how do you know? How do you know he doesnt go home and smack his mum about?! Know him personally, do you??

Urgh... Might as well talk to a wall if thats the kind of mature response Im gonna get.

All im gonna say now is that threaRAB are being made to support this thread, one of which is asking what the fuss is about.

Why most of you lot are on a discussion board, when your only interested in the hot air coming out of your own mouth's is beyond me.

Now that there is a story out there about Bale being released on Bail for smacking his mum and sister (why are they estranged, by the way? Bit selfish, given the woman gave birth to him) the point Im trying to make is the grasp that the Media can have on the success of a movie. If this story manages to go further than a "verbal disagreement" that Elliot Bale seems to think it is, then you would see less people go and see this film, because then your seen to agree with what he does in his personal life. Thus proving my point, and proving many of you to have your heaRAB so far up each others arses to see what is blindingly obvious.

Exactly.

The buzz for this movie started when Gordon flipped over the Joker card at the end of Batman Begins. The Joker is a legendary character, probably the most popular villain in comic book history. The buzz over seeing him in another Batman film and who would play him was massive. And then when Heath was cast, numerous discussions about whether he could better Jack Nicholson's performance.

I've been following news of this movie for a couple of years now and trust me, it's been hotly anticipated ever seen people watched and enjoyed Batman Begins, which is not a remake by the way.

His death his given the film a lot of attention yes, but his performance was getting praised before he died. And if he does get nominated or even win an Oscar I am sure his death will play not part in that decision. Only one actor in history has been awarded an Oscar after their death, so the Academy certainly doesn't deal in sentiment.
