First make sure your homeowners insurance will cover this risk. You are at risk of people suing you if they slip and fall (say on a dropped egg on the floor) or they burn themselves on the oven, etc. If you dont own then you should have renters insurance. Also if you are starting a business, such as cooking you have to pay the board of health and have them inspect your kitchen in order to offer a cooking class.
FOR EXAMPLE On the news in Boston recently a teen girl was selling cakes and cupcakes from her home to friends and family. And the board of health in her town found out and told her she had to pay over 200 dollars fee and she has to have an inspection by the board of health.
Also if you are starting a business you have to pay taxes and register your business with your town. You have to get all the proper paperwork to start a business. And having a cooking class IS a business.
I would just have a flyer that is simple and clear. Your name and location, date, time. Cooking made simple for teens. Or teens learning to cook. etc
