Im looking to buy a used car. Whats a good amount of miles for a used car?

I want to buy a used car but Im seeing some ad's with cars for like 170K miles and when i see that im like "oh no" but im not too sure if that's fine or i dont know. Im not a car person. help! And when you answer, use language i can understand hahah like i said, im not a car person
