...$3500budget. Whats the best? Part list would be appreciated such as cpu and motherboard and stuff like that but isn't really necessary. :) Thanks.
I do like the Antec 1200 case but what about other case options?

newegg.com is good.
You could get pretty much any thing you wanted for that price. Get dual graphics cards for sure. I would also get a good tv tuner, and Wireless-N unless you would be wired. You might also get a water cooling system.

AMD Phenom 9850....
9800Gx2 (x3) in SLi
Asus M3N-HT Deluxe 3-way SLI board
8GB RAM
XP Pro 64bit
or Vista Ultimate x64 bit...
Or dual boot ;)

three 22' wide monitors with a monitor stand...
Logitech 5.1 speakers...
Logitech mouse and keyboard...
Logitech mouse pad....
three 150GB raptors...

Have a custom rig built for you- May as well have pros select components, burn-in and test it. They're more familiar with which motherboards, RAM, and peripherals play nicely together, which are rock-solid stable, which are great performers and which ones are flaky or comparatively bad values.

Or if you're an experienced PC builder, buy all the parts from Newegg or Tigerdirect.

Core 2 Duo E8500, 4GB of RAM, dual GeForce 8800GTXs in SLi (or a single 9800GX2) and a really good power supply. With a $3500 budget you can do that easily (or upgrade... quad core q6600 etc)

ok if that's AUD then take a look at this list

cpu q6600 $250 (or Q9300 for $320)

vga geforce 8800 GTX x2 (in SLI) $493.68 x2

Mobo Striker II Formula $409.95

ram - 4gb corsair dominator $228.10

case antec 1200 $276.10

Power - coolermaster 850w modular - $260

keyboard/mouse - logitech g15 keyboard, razer lacheis mouse $200 all up

chimei 22" sscreen - $300

HDD - 2x 500gb in raid 0 $300

all up $3223

all prices from experience and from www.staticice.com.au

this is the best computer that i have written for a long time

edit*

jsut looking at the other posts, dejavu was close, but not close enough

the mac one was just wrong.

and most of the others were very amateur.

3x sli is a waste. raptors are a waste, don't bother with either

well, i would recommend you a dell computer.
Go for the new XPS with a nVida GeForxe 128MB graphics card. also, get a 4GB memory with Windows Vista home premuim 62-bit.

if you dont know what a graphics card is, or memory, search it on google.

If you want to build it yourself, go to newegg.com They have amazing prices, shipping, customer support.

Consider buying an AMD Computer .. as fast CPU amazing hypertranspot technology with maximum performance and fast memory controls
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 9400 Qaud Core
Ram : DDRam 3 hyper X unbuffered 1200 MHz
HDD : Western Digital "Caviar SE16" 500 GB Serial ATA II Model AAKS with 16 mb buffer

Trust me you will enjoy
see you

I could build you a screaming fast computer with 24in monitor for around $3000 +$500 labor and it would be top of the line in everyway. Listed below:
motherboard -XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard -$275
CPU - Core 2 Quad Q6700 - $200
Case -Thermaltake Black Kandalf LCS Full-Tower w/1000w PSU - $400
Memory 4*1gb -OCZ SLI 4096mb PC16000 DDR3 2000MHz -$400 (best overclocking DDR3 memory)
2-PNY XLR8 GeForce 9800 GTX video cards (512mb DDR3 SLI) -$550
XP Pro 64bit - Full Version $125
6*1TB SATA drives (6TB of storage) 7200, 32MB, SATA-300 - $650
So the total looks to be around $2600 for the components and then add a DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP -$400 and there you go your $3000 scream machine. Thanks
