Try the 5-door Subaru Impreza, Not the WRX or WRX sti. Has a 170HP and full time all wheel drive. Plenty of after market parts. My Dad lives in the UP (Houghton) and Subaru's are every where up there.The Shitabishi Eclipse is junk. The Mazda RX-8 is OK, but bad MPG and uses a lot of oil.

What ever you get, put on good snow tires for winter.
 
...should I get? I'm thinking RX-8 or Eclipse.Yes or no? If no, what? I have about 7k but you'd be surprised what that can get you on Autotrader. I just need suggestions.
 
the best car for you would be a Subaru Impreza WRX. they are fast sporty and have All wheel drive so they can drive in allmost anything.
