im looking for a first street bike?

im not a beginner at riding motorcycles but i dont know what would be a good one for a beginner at street bikes. there are so many to choose from. i have about 10 years of experience on off road motorcycles and atvs. id like to get it fairly cheap so it doesnt have to be new. just give me some options to narrow it down. ps i also want it to be relatively easy to ride but still not a beginner bike... i dont want a 250... 600 is the smallest i would get so i want it to be good handling and performance to. thanks
