My family is short one car and we are looking to lease a Jeep Grand Cherokee for me for this summer. I live in MA, good credit, looking for a short term lease. what is the shortest I can get a lease and roughly how much will it cost monthly?

Hoping to get one with a V8 but right now I can't be a picker. I would prefer to lease an older model ('99-'06) for a cheaper price but I have a feeling they will only have some '09's and '08's to lease.

Honestly, I think you will have a really tough time leasing a Jeep at all.

The depreciation on a vehicle is the most important factor in determining what the manufacturer sets as a fair least rate. Theoretically, the better the vehicle holds its value, the lower your lease payment will be.

Since Jeeps depreciate like crazy, the lease payment would be so high, you might as well purchase the vehicle with all of the available discounts and incentives (or depreciation if you are thinking used).

I would recommend considering the purchase of something like a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 20K-30K Miles. This will run you around $14K to purchase, which is certainly a payment that is comparable to a typical lease.
