I'm incredibly frustrated. (i275)

Okay so here's the deal :
For Christmas I got an i275 phone. I got all uber excited because that meant that I could actually have real music ring tones (as opposed to my i90c that I had before). So I went through the Nextel catalogue, discovered that these lame ring tones are extremely short and pretty stupid for the most part. So I search around online and get excited again cause I see that you can make your own ringtones. I'm pretty computer savvy if I do say so myself, so I found out how to make the tones and get them in basically whatever format I want them to be. After trying 9823747 different formats, I am finally at a complete loss as to what type my i275 supports. Anyone have any idea at all? If you just tell me the type, I can figure out how to get it on my phone no problem.

P.S. The error I get is "406: Not Acceptable" for every format I try sending to my phone.
 
according to a website i found in google, it says your ringtones must be wav format. here is the reference i am talking about: http://www.harrythompson.com/troubleshooting/ringtones.htm

i can't guarantee this second recommendation will work for you, but some phones can be tricked into playing mp3 files by changing the file extension to a supported type like midi. it's worth a try, or in your case try to change the extension to.wav and you might get lucky. otherwise, convert convert convert. good luck! my LG phone will play mp3 files if I change the extension from .mp3 to .qcp and that seems to work with other LG phones too.

Yeah, I've seen that website and I've tried wav, midi, mp3, and qcp. None of those worked, and I made sure the wav had like the right requirements and stuff. Could it be the way that I'm sending it to my phone? I use http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ that transferrer and connect to the site via my phone etc. Would that cause a problem or no? I even called Nextel yesterday trying to ask what format my ringtones were in haha...the lady had no idea what I was talking about...she sent me to Zingy.com. But seriously thanks for your help =] Nextel frustrates me so much. Why can't things just be easy? Haha.
 
there is another format you may have not tried... mmf. i don't know anything about these .mmf files but i'd bet thats what you need. try doing a forum search for mmf converting and maybe that will help, or maybe someone else will reply here with some helpful info on what an mmf file is and how to convert one... good luck!

oh oh.... and yet another file format, AAC may be worth looking into also...
 
If im not mistaken, They have to be .mp3 files... Also, I dont think that the i275 supports them anyways. I will do some research and find out for you.
