Ok, heres the set-up. I have a Boston Acoustic G5 4ohm sub wired down to a 2 ohm load. I have a 2-channel Memphis street edge amp, that is 200 RMS. The sub will play fine all day long as long as the volume does not go past 16. Once past 16, the amp goes into protection mode and shuts off. I was wondering if a capacitor would solve the problem. Any suggestions?

yeah had the same problem with a 1000 watt audiobahn and your just not getting enough power and a capacitor will probably fix it

No, the problem is the amp isn't stable a 2 ohm bridged

A cap won't help with this as that's not what a cap does. A cap doesn't provide more power. all it does is try to stiffen the voltage as best it can, nothing else.
