My neon tends to vibrate when in drive but at a standstill. then when I start driving, I feel the vibration even more but when I start going faster (25+mph) the vibration stops.

Ive been told my shifter cylinoid needs to be replaced, but should that be causing the problems?

I'm getting vibrations from what seems to be from the engine. At a standstill (when in drive applying the brake) and when driving but stops at 25+mph.

What should I do? Thanks

Yes it sounds like a weak or broken motor mount. have the hood popped and idling and see if it looks like the engine is ''shaking'' alot. Then have someone in the car with the brake on and shift it slowly from drive to reverse and with you looking under the hood see if the engine rocks back and forth as someone shifts it. If it rocks alot then you probably need a mount usually a car has 3 to 4 for the engine/trans. $cylinder engines have more vibration than a 6 or 8 cylinder engine but it should not to a ton of vibration.

Check the motor mounts if your car vibrates when standing still and the engine running....If moving down the road then it is a blistered tire or a tie-rod or a ball joint damaged....Take it to a mecha nic and let him diagnos the problem!!!!.
