I'm having a problem with data service

I recently switched my plan to minutes and mail to suit my new pearl.
The plan was supposed to switch over today, which it did, but my phone still reads "Data connection refused". There is no option for internet in the menu.

BTW, on my tmobile it says I do have the minutes and mail plan.

What should I do? Thanks.
 
So am I understanding you correctly you went from just a voice plan to Voice and Data?

It can take up to 48 hours for your phone to provision on the t-mo network.

Try this on your pearl:
Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table>Hit Menu>select register now.
 
oki I did that and it said registration info sent.

I went from a voice plan to Minutes and Mail. I switched the service on the website last monday and it said the changed would take effect, today, the tenth. It shows on TMO website that the changes were made, but "data connection refused."
 
Ok I have never heard it put that way "minutes and mail" but you may want to call your service provider and make sure you have the "Blackberry Unlimited Data plan" (for 19.99).

If not, you can't access the Blackberry Data network and you are going to have that "Data connection refused" message.

If you do have the BB data plan then try a battery pull (battery out wait 30 seconds, battery back in).

You can also log into your "my-tmo" account and look under messaging it says "setup blackberry internet email".

I guess I'm not sure whether or not it has a data plan :lol:

Edit: I cross checked another thread about plans and looks like my plan does have unlimited data. :/
 
Yeah it looks like you do have the BB data plan I would try the steps in my post above.

If not call T-mo Handheld support and have them make sure everything is alright on your account and get you going.
 
I would try and go into your account online and send your service books. It's under the blackberry options. Should be half way down the page and click on that and then it should bring up a window to update email addresses and sending service books.
 
I can't find it on the webpage. Can someone link me?

Edit: When I try to setup the email, it says the information can't be verified?! I'm entering in the pin from the sticker under the battery and IMEI from the menu on the phone

If its saying information cannot be verified when you login there I would call T-Mo something might be messed up on their end.

Like they might have your account signed up for data but your handheld might not be provisioned on their network.
 
Update: looks like it just took them a while to figure their **** out. Phone finally updated and registered with the service

Do I need to sign up for tmobile web to be able to browse the intetnet?
