...pay ahead of time? ...because my dad was driving down for my graduation and i wanted to b able to drive part of the way and were gonna b makin stops along the way at a bar or two. i was hoping i could pay ahead of time and they could send my license and tag while im gone...dont know if it makes a difference but i reside in michigan
 
Check with Michigan DMV but be prepared that you might not be driving back with him. Unless you are a Marine and get the 10 days off, the other branches can have you go straight to A School/Tech/AIT from Basic and driving isn't necessarily an option at all. They will fly you there because you can be on restrictions.
 
In Ohio, you can renew 90 days before expiration of your license plates. Check your state laws. You may have to give your dad a "power of Attorney" form from the DMV to get your license plates.
 
I would say asap to call the DMV in your state. Each state may have different rules that apply. You can also check online. Congratulations!
