I'm going to be on my period at camp.........?

Darn! I can't believe that I'm going to have my period at camp. It's a camp where i spend the night for a week. I use tampons, so that's not a problem. It's just that lately I've had periods from hell w/ bad cramps and headaches. I really don't want to deal with that! Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!
So, any suggestions on how to deal with it? And this might be stupid, but how do you open up a pad without it sounding really loud?

P.S. birth control is not an option!
 
Bring Midol for the cramps and the headaches. You could also try those heating pads that stick to your clothes so you can wear it around camp. That helps me a lot. As for the pad, if I'm going into a public bathroom with people in it, I try to pee and do my thing and have it in my hand, and then when someone flushes the toilet, I open it as fast as I can. Hope that helps!
 
i always use playtex sports tampon. they open really quietly. hmmmm, sneeze while your opening the pad? lol
just try to forget about it and have fun!
i had mine when i went to surf camp in san diego and that sucked
