I have frozen salmon filets that are defrosting in the fridge. I do not know how to cook, but have watched my mom do it enough that I think I can handle it. Is there anything about this that doesnt seem right:

1. spray glass pan with pam
2. put olive oil and salt and pepper on both sides of the salmon
3. (dill on top)
4. bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes
?

Yup, that's how you do it. Sounds good! When did you say dinner was? 8^)

Salmon is not hard to cook. It is relatively forgiving of slight under-cooking or overcooking. If you don't know how to cook -anything-, salmon is a good place to start!

Be sure to let it sit for a five minutes or so once you take it out of the oven, to 'firm up'.

BTW I saw a guy on TV cook salmon in the dishwasher. You wrap it tightly in tinfoil, making sure it's sealed on all sides. You put it in the dishwasher and run it. The water in the dishwasher is hot enough, and runs long enough to 'poach' it. I've always wanted to try that! You can actually do it while you're washing dishes (it's sealed so the soap doesn't get to it)! But the guy on TV didn't, he just cooked the salmon.
