im going surf fishing and have no idea how?

im going salt water fishing in july from shore i have never done this before and i want to no how to fish from shore can u use the same lures in salt water as fresh water do u need a new tactic how do u bring fish in to shore or will they already be there do u need a diffrent license is it better to wade out or just stay on shore are there seasons for fish and what r they any thing else is appreciated and i rele want ure help
 
You will need bait like squid, shrimp or cut bait (from a fish). Get a heavy rod and reel along with some heavy lead weights. Wade out as far as you can feel comfortable with and cast out into or over the waves. Which state will you be in? Check out, online, their Department of Resources to see if any license requirements and creel limits apply. Make sure you know a little about the fish you could catch. Some have teeth and or toxic defenses.
 
Surf-fishing is much the same as lake or river fishing except that the fish will be bigger, generally, and they are living in a much bigger pool of water! Sea fish (just like lake fish) tend to hang around close to structure, so there will always be some within casting distance of the beach or shoreline. Live bait or some kind of stinky bait will lure more fish than artificial lures, and you will typically want to use a heavier line if you don't want to lose any fish you do hook!

If you DO just use your inland fishing gear to surf fish, remember to rinse it all well with fresh water when you get home, otherwise the salt will corrode it...
