Im going camping at the new forest this monday (week today). We will need to have a long walk on day 1 to the camp site (me and the other 3 in my group).

This will be a 3 day camp/hiking expedition (Monday to Wednesday).

What food should I take and how? I will be needing to carry everything each day as we move (i.e. clothes, food, tent, sleeping bag, a trangia and more) so the food needs to be lightweight, stored well, and east to eat/cook.

Thanks for any help.
Regards,
James.

try campmor.com or freeze dried foods they sell alot of meals that takes about two cups of boiling water and will feed two i camp alot and we hike to our sites most are really good (dont go with the pancakes they not to good) not sure how much would cost to have shipped in that time will have to over night but most are like 6 to 7 bucks each campmor is where i get mine always loved there prices on all camping equip good luck

Dont forget the GORP!!! Good Ole Raisins n Peanuts. try mixing salted peanuts, m+m's, mini pretzels, chex cereal, shredded coconut, raisins, dried apples/bananas/apricots etc... in a tough ziploc bag. Divide in three so the other guys wont be hounding yours all the time! lol

If I was going, I would bring foods high in carbohydrates and protein and fat,(mono and poly unsaturated) carbs for enery, protein for the repair of muscles and fat for warmth. For breakfast I would bring some porridge, mabye some packet food as well. For lunch Maybe something off the trangee, possible packet soup or pasta, sandwichs and some sort of meat. A similar dinner but I would recoomeemmd packet foods as they are quick and easy to make and light with alot of energy.

Tinned food
