If I ever stop posting for an extended period, it will be because I got arrested for protesting or something. I really want that full blown revolution, but I'm on the fence as to how willing I am to participate/ if it's even worth it. So for now, it's social commentary, but eventually I hope it leads to massive demonstrations.
 
I know how you feel, I worry myself sick thinking about the things my kids are going to deal with after I'm gone, not to mention it pisses me right off that all of the idiots who don't pay attention to newspapers and the news who think "ignorance is bliss" are the ones doing the most damage. If you ignore it, it will not go away..

I don't think you're thinking too much, if there is something that you have the power to change, then do what you can to change it, and try not to stress too much on the things you really can't. There's some truth to this statement, even if it is originally in regards to alcoholism. "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference".

Have you ever read the stuff by John Locke?

Rage, all you can do is live YOUR life the way you think is right. Be the person you wish others would be, and it's not easy, and usually not that fun... but fuck it. If you can live without Regret, if you can strive to better yourself, that can be enough. It has to be.
 
I hate to break it to you...but I gotta say this...

Mankind, at the moment, has no legacy. No fucking legacy whatsoever.

If we end up dying off 50, 100, hell, even 300 years from now, we're a fucking footnote in the universe.

Let's say, worst case scenario, 50 years from now we fall into a terrible state of disarray and nearly all of us die.

Sure, we'll have virutal reality and shit, but let's face it, we won't have intergalactic (or even interplanetary) space travel or anything else to make us worth a shit on the intergalactic playing field.

Other races will just say "Gee, they could have been something."

If anything, the only things they might learn from us would be chemical compounds they may have not invented, like Teflon or Ecstasy. Let's just hope their brains possess serotonin. It'd be pretty fucking cool to roll face with a Martian. I might end up fucking it :cool:...

I always thought television was the opiate for the masses.

Though I think Marx predated TV, so religion would've fit the times.

Anyway Rage, all I can tell you is this: If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Negativity breeds negativity. The world is full of shitty people, but you're not required to be shitty, too... I'm sure you've heard all this noise before.

Nobody can save the world. Saving yourself from the world is about the best you can do.
