im getting pains just under my rib cage on the right side why is this? hurts more when i try to put shoes on or lay down or sit down and sometimes walk

Could be gallbladder issues. That's where it is located.

I agree... could be gallbladder. Very common for a problematic gallbladder to cause pain when pressure is applied, like when putting shoes on. See a doctor and get checked out.

Could it be intercostal neuralgia - inflammation of the stuff in between the ribs? It can start off in one area and then radiate all the way around the rib when at its worst--by then every breath hurts. Weight loss is real common; about all you want by the time it goes all the way around is hot tea.

i have pain in that area and ultra sound shows polyps. mine hurts for most of the day and has displaced me from my usual routine due to pain.
you should go to the "fun" doctor and start with xray to see if you broke or fractured rib, if not demand ultrasound. good luck.
