I'm getting a Nokia C6 from fido, is a 2-years contract too long?

I'm planning on getting a nokia c6 for $50 for a 2 -years contract from fido. My parents told me to reconsider since they were stuck with 3 years contract and its finally going to end and they regret making that move everyday. But for me, I don't think 2 years is as long and plus this phone came out in 2010 so it should be a phone that's capable of a long-lifetime.

What do you guys think? Should I get this phone with the 2years contract since after weeks of researching this phone is my favourite since it has almost everything that I wanted. Or, should i just get a simple phone for around $100 and get another one next year or so. IF you guys know any other phones that are provided from Solo, Wind, Fido, Mobilicity, Rogers , please add that as well

2 years is the usual length of time for phone plans. But compared to prepaid, it is a lot more expensive. I really won't recommend the C6. I believe it is a bad phone. Slow processors, outdated Symbian^1 OS, and bulky body build... I really dislike it. If you want it to be a Nokia, get any Symbian^3 device. Otherwise, get an Android with a slide out keyboard.
