Okay so i'm 18 years old and on the application it wants to know all your Addresses in the past ten years (which I have) but it also wants to know somebody that knew you when you lived in your old homes like there names, number, address. Do they really except me to remeber this because I would only be like 9 years or 12 years old then???

It's for a security clearance. Yes they expect you to know or be able to look up someone who knew you back then. your parents friends may be good choices, or maybe your teachers.

just do your best.

They expect you to make a good faith effort to fill out the information. Expecting an 18 year old to remember names and address from 10 years before is a bit unrealistic as kids this age have a hard time remembering to do much of anything.

Having said this, this information may save your life someday. Sounds strange doesn't it?

Look up the old movie "Bat 19",,,and brush up on your golf.

And it really happened

Do Not! Do Not!vDo Not! make up bogus names or addresses. Just leave it blank, and explain to he recruiter exactly what you just explained to us.
Remember, not remembering, is being honest
Making up something fake - is lying.

Don't stress about it too much. That is used in case you are going for a job that needs a security clearance. If you aren't really going into military inteligence or anythign like that, I wouldn't stress too much about it.

There is a key phrase when you are putting your signature down. You are signing that all of the information you provided is "to the best of your knowledge". You can put down some of your friends names, and just come up with some address to put down. It really isn't going to matter too much because not everyone keeps address tabs on thier friends. If they are really needing to find out where your references are, they will find a way to get a hold of them.

But really, don't worry about it all that much. Go ahead and put people's names on there and if you need to use an address, just use a bogus one. They aren't really going to pick up that you were making it up.

Good luck
