I'm Fed Up With 3D Films!

3D is a gimmick. It always has been and always will be. Most of the films have absolutely no point in being in 3D. Why the hell was Streetdance in 3D? It added nothing to the film whatsoever.

It should be saved for when it'll look great. At the moment it's just a token value addition to the film which is there purely to make extra revenue. People go to see the 3D rather than the film.

It compensates for poor films, too, by being their saviour allowing for more ticket sales.

Where did l say that?

My original post (if you had bothered to read it) was about how many 3D films were being made and showing at a cinema at the same time!

Yup, while I think Avatar is a pile of shit at least it was shot in 3D properly and that was how it was always intended.

Nearly all films now just have it tacked on post production, Clash of the titans is going to be crap regardless and some tacked on 3D isn't going to change that.

Something which has just dawned on me, maybe everyone else knows but I don't: when you're filming a 3D film, do you see it in 3D as you're filming it? Because the great films of the past relied on cinematographers who could capture the director's vision on film (or even digitally). But how much of the visual impact of a 3D film is the result of great camerawork and how much is just done in software?
