This is a page in my sketch book saying about why i chose the topic of child abuse.
I don't want it to sound to personal because i don't want to broadcast my past to everyone but equally i want to get my point across and make it sound good.
Please give your opinion and if you can think of anything to add it would be greatly appreciated!
Here's what i have so far:
Ahmed Alsoudani's subject is war because it is close to his heart. I have chosen to do my art in the subject of child abuse because the issue of it has an effect on me as a person. Child abuse similarly like war destroys lives and families. The unnecessary violence and hurt is still there.
Grown-ups are supposed to take care of children, help them learn how to do things, show them the right way to behave, and encourage the good things. Most adults treat children well. But some adults hurt and abuse them rather than help them at all. Over three million children were reported as neglected, physically emotionally or sexually abused. Children are defenceless and the parents or guardians are supposed to protect them but in some cases this is the opposite.
Child abuse can affect anyone and when it happens it can affect all kinds of children, no matter where they live, how much money their families have, or who they live with. A kid can be abused by a parent, family member or guardian. Child abuse can happen at home, school or child care, child abuse can happen anywhere. Abuse continues to happen in the world, for many reasons, reasons we will never comprehend. Sometimes you hear different excuses of why the situation happened but it is always inexcusable and unacceptable. The children don’t have a choice but the adult however does. Child abuse will never be justifiable.

This is just the introduction by the way, sorry i forgot to say- i am going to do a double page spread after this page with all sorts of quotes and statistics (i forgot to mention that)
examples are: Six per cent of children experienced frequent and severe emotional maltreatment during childhood. Abuse casts a shadow the length of a lifetime. and some quotes from my poems; Harsh words can be like violent blows. Hidden secrets nobody knows. My eyes are open, my hands are fisted. Cos I know deep down you regret that i existed.
Specific/ important words will be in capitals and there will drawings of abuse will be all arround the pages.
And the colour scheme will be the same as the artist Ahmed Alsoudani because i have to but its similatr becasue war ios violent too.
i will do mixed media- such as some watercolour (colours such as black, white, gray browns then some bright reds, and oranges) and then work into it with pastel and charcoal
Check up on his work its rele good!
