1) 3 yrs, full time, but you have to take the Bar Exam and that was like at least another six months of school, it is torture, but almost anyone that is willing to spend money on school can become a lawyer it is real easy to get into some law school;

2) I went to undergrad at a large state university, it was cheap, fun, and just as good for me as an expensive private school;

3) No, I would be a dentist if i had it to do all over again;

4) Real estate, bankruptcy, business;

5) Sure, to a certain extent;

6) Yes, one would hope they would prepare;

7) It hurts your ego, it is like losing a sports game, I do not do high stakes trials like murder cases, I can't imagine what losing a case like that would feel like;

8) No, it is a bad job and getting worse;

9) No, what is done is done. If I could go back in time I would be something different, but that is impossible. Law sucks. Too many law schools and law students. Good jobs are few and far between as a lawyer. Most lawyers do not make much, despite what tv shows depict. For what you have to go through it is not worth it for most people to become lawyers these days, better to go into health care.

10) More or less.

1. 4 years in the evening division. I worked full time as IT director in the day & went to law school at night.

2. Undergrad college -- picked because it was close to my office and I could transfer other undergrad classes. I carried a full load of classes, tested through most of them, went to school at night.

Law school -- close to my office, it had a good reputation.

3. LOVE my job. I own my own law firm. The most fun I have ever had.

4. I concentrate in employment law for employees.

5. Of course. Any lawyer who does not get a little nervous in court has lost his/her edge.

6. Yes, that is how we merge the law with the facts of our case, and convince the court we should win.

7. Like being run over by a truck. You spend days after the loss re-running what you did and what could have been done. It is a major learning experience.

8. Love being a lawyer. I get paid to help people. Going into court is terrific.

9. Yes. I make about 50% LESS than I did when I worked in a corporation. And yes it still is worth it.

10. Yes. As the owner of the law firm I make time for my family. I have a home office so I put in a ton of time -- BUT we sit down for dinner together and I try to keep from working on Sunday. However, as owner I never stop thinking about the job. It is not unusal for me to get up in the middle of the night to work on something.
