the mounties engaged in an epic battle against the great moose. 1 of the mounties was killed, and 2 others were injured in the 3 hour conflict. The navy was no help during this encounter as the fight broke out 15 feet from the river's shore. when the moose was finally destroyed, one the remaining mounties picked up a leaf off forest floor and stuck it in his hat. thus canada was born
