I'm cooking dinner for my wife, but I have no clue what to make? And I burn everything?

I forgot about my anniversary a few days ago, and now I'm going to attempt to make my wife dinner. I would usually take her to a restaurant, but I kind of wanted this to be special. My problem is that I burn everything I cook. I almost caught our house on fire while I was making Ramen noodles.

What is something I can make that is easy, but nice? And I could sure use some tips on how not to burn it.

Follow the directions and you will be fine. And when I say follow, I mean FOLLOW as in every step. If you are cooking hamberger helper and it says to simmer for 20 mins, you put that dial on simmer and watch the time. If you want something fancy but not too hard to do, I suggest you go to foodnetwork.com and look for some steak recipes and follow the directions. It's worth a shot1
