I'm confused by my moms reaction to me confessing my suicidal depression?

When I broke down crying in the car with my mom a while back I had to confess that I have been wanting to kill myself for months she just told me almost every girl my age wants to die and continued like I didn't even say I was suicidal. We're okay now and I'm all good, but I still wonder why she didn't act more concerned and treated it as if it's just some trend among girls my age (14)... Why did she act like I was pathetic and annoying or whatever?

She's probably terrified, and doesn't know what to do. Some people find it easier to pretend that everything is okay.

That, or she thinks that maybe you just need a bit more attention. Try having an honest conversation about your feelings with her. If that doesn't work, try someone else, like a teacher or aunt or your father or something.
