I'm confused about Chito-ryu Karate; what do you know about it, its techniques and history?

Is it a traditional Okinawan style like Goju-ryu?
or
Is it a traditional Okinawan style that was begun while the teacher lived in Japan like Shito-ryu?
or
Is it a traditional style of Karate that has become very much Japanese in design like Shotokan or Goju-kai?

Where does it fit into the Okinawan v Japanese Karate styles debate?
What are its techniques most like; Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu or Shotokan?

I love the history of Karate and its origins. I'm looking for a Okinawan focused style and Chito-ryu is close to home.
Thanks
