im not the best singer( i think...) but should i still go all out? Do you think they wont choose me for the lead because im a freshmen or black? when i audition the song "six months out of every year" should i really perform it or just sing it? and where can i get the piano music for the song and lyrics. any other tips? this is my first real real audition for a play.

Race shouldn't be a factor unless it is specifically stated in the role, but your age might be a problem. Your audition song shouldn't be a song from the play so it shouldn't really be performed, but definitely give it your all when you sing. For sheet music I'd recommend searching a local music shop, ask your school's chorus teacher where he goes for sheet music, and if it isn't there try online stores.
