you sign up for your rate plan when you get your phone. the iphone plugs into your PC like an ipod. since I already use ATT all I have to do is add the $20/mo data plan and it will transfer over my phone # to the iphone. Looks like I will have to enter all my freakin #s though, hope there is a utility for that

1. Use iTunes to do that. It syncs your contacts, just have the latest version
2. ATT stores can do it for $15 (non-ref). They use a flash memory you keep.
3. Manually, one by one...
