Right before the 1st temple, there is the guy on the right that sells the lamp oil and health potion. Well, I walked up to the lamp oil and dipped the lamp in to refill it. It didnt ask me to pay, so I left the area. The bird thing screamed THEIF at me i was like... So I turned around and walked back in to drop 20 rupees in the box, and the fucker started attacking me!

I wanna pay for my lamp oil damnit!!!
 
I picked up the red potion, went back to bird and tried to pay him over and over for like 5 mins then i just walked out. It wasnt my fault but he was pissed
 
A follow up to my story.

*possible spoiler warning*

I went back to that small shop with the bird in wolf form (after you beat lakebed temple) to get the master sword. Well, Since I was a dog, the little bird talked to me.

Now previous of doing this, I dipped my lamp in the oil to refil it, and left on accident without paying. Well, I needed oil after the monkey got done using my lamp for the fog so I went back to that shop and dipped the lamp back into the oil while he was attacking me.

Now, back to what happens. While I was talking to the bird as a dog, he said his master was mad at him for letting me steal it, so he added water to the oil for the next time I go try to steal from him.

(however, last time i checked, oil and water dont mix.)
