I'm working at as a waitress for the first time (college job)... and obviously I'm dealing with tips, cash and credit/gift card.
I don't understand what claiming 100% of your tips means. I want to, but when I tried to I messed it up. The people I work with are all telling me different ways to do it (some telling me yes-claim all, and some don't have a clue).
When I end the night, I get a screen that tells me to claim 100% of my tips. I don't know if that means the credit card tips have been figured in or what.
For example, tonight I worked and received about $60 in credit card tips and around $65 in cash tips. The estimated amount to claim on my screen was $23something. Where did the computer get the 23?
Is there a way to explain this or something I can read somewhere?
