Im a Flash/HTML Newbie. But How Can I Import HTML To Adobe Flash?

Basically Im training to build parts of a website but I need to know about html and stuff. All I want to do is import code from a website that has an interactive menuto flash

So far I know to get the source, I put the source into a word document save as a .xml and on adobe flash Cs4 go to import but when I play movie nothing comes up...

I know im doing something wrong im just a novice. Fankyou
