Hi All,
I am a divorced father of a beautiful 4.5 ys old girl. My ex and I have joint custody. I am with my daughter twice a week including overnights and most days my daughter is with my ex.
In the past month or two my daughter constantly complains about my ex telling me she does not like to be with her because she is angry and frustrated and screams at her. she also told me she prefers being with me or her grandmother (my ex's mother. my parents are abroad).
I am a bit worried because I know how insecure and controlling my ex is in addition to having low self confidence. well..that's why I left her!

Today when my daughter told me about her issues with mom I again I just didn’t know what to tell her but promised to think about it and talk about it with her this weekend when I see her again (well in 2 days).
My question is what in the world do you recommend I recommend a 4.5 yrs old girl to do when her mom is frustrated, angry at her or yells at her!?
For example in the morning when my ex is late for work - they fight. I know I am never angry at my daughter and always keep a nice calm atmosphere at home. However unfortunately I can not change my ex to make her a better mother/person.
Any advice on this would be high appreciated!
THANKS & REGARDS,
Neil,
