I'm a Bonehead

I dropped my 6 day old 1098S after a great ride today. I got off to open the garage door and must of touched the kickstand back just a little bit while pushing her in. Once I got her in the garage, I started to walk away and knew it was going down. Just a few scratches on the center panel - most of which polished out. Can anyone tell me are these panels painted or are they more like a boat's gel coat? Sorry for my ignorance - I've been on naked bikes for too long now.

Anyone in SoCal have good experience they can share with skin repairs?

Bonehead is being a little harsh on yourself you may be a dip shit but not a bonehead,sorry to hear about the little drop dosn't sound like too much damage these panels are painted by the way shouldn't be too $$$$ to fix.
