i'm a bit scared lump in chest

so hey im traveling overseas (im a musician for a living) and a few days ago i found what seems to be a rather large lump below my sternum on the right side it feels really hard and seems to be attached to my sternum and right ribcage. it only hurts when i push on it repeatedly i now have some slight back pain and feel a bit nervous. i went to a dr. in germany a couple days ago and the dr. did an ultrasound and a felt around and did the ole' lung listen and wrote me off fine, but i'm terrified and away from my wife, have any of you ever heard of this type of thing

thanks,
aaron

When playing do you use your right side more than your left? Could it be you pulled a muscle in your chest?

Or, it might be an inflamed parasternal lymph node. When they get big (fighting off infection) they can slip out of place and takes awhile for the swelling to go down.

Might be Tietze's syndrome or the very similar costochondritis. It's inflammation of cartilage in the chest, where the ribs attach to the sternum.

If you have TS or Costo and a stiff painful lower back, I would recommend that you see a rheumatologist to be evaluated for Ankylosing Spondylitis. Other symptoms that go along with AS are eye problems, fatigue and mouth ulcers.

(Just a couple of guesses. ;) I hope you're feeling better!)
