Im 21 years old right now. I want to start my own Solar power plant. I wanna buy some land and buy a lot of solar powers panels. I want to harvest my own Solar power and then sell the energy to PG&E. How hard is it to open up this type of business ?? what will I need to know ? can I become rich off of it ?? The reason why I came up with this reason is because in America we keep talking about Global warming and not having enought energy.

Solar power generagion from solar panels isn't particularly efficient. Most comercial solar power generation facilities use mirrors to superheat liquids and run turbines that way.
If you do want to run a large solar farm using solar cell technology, according to Scientific American Frontiers the panels being produced by a guy named Stan Ovshinsky are much cheaper and more durable than traditional panels, and outside of areas like the Mojave Desert where you can be insured constant sunlight, they're also more efficient.

You will need lots of cash to purchase equipement and property. No one will give you a loan. Your business will loose lots of money because solar power is very expensive compared to other forms of power generation.

Just because you get a check every month from the power company does not mean that you have made a profit.

All you have to do is be a PG&E customer, have your "facility" connected to their power grid, then produce more energy than you use.

Me neighbor got a check from PSO every month, because his windmills generated more electricity than he used.

They are far too expensive. They can fail due to high winds or hail .They do not produce power at night when U need it.It is very sickening to see all your panels blown all over. The pay out would be over 30 years.
