I like the idea of combat related jobs, the AF would be cool because of the tech but is it boring or what? And what do you really think about a combat engineer and Rangers or the differences, similarities, pros and cons about the two? I did a lot of research so far and I hear the AF is downsizing. Well just let me know what you think.

think about it. it's five years down the road and you're there for a job interview. "So, what kind of experience do you have?"

what will you say? remember, you're selling yourself.

That depends on you. Both services are overstrength and slots are going to be limited.

Combat engineers and infantry are both good professions for someone who enjoys lots of physical work and exercise. Combat engineers spend a lot of time doing amateur carpentry with nails and hammers and whatnot. Infantry roll outside the wire and spend more of their garrison time playing with weaponry and stuff. Rangers are elite infantry, so that's basically all they do.

The intersection between the two is called a "Sapper." Sappers are used to deliver explosives to enemy obstacles. A Sapper is the elite of the combat engineers and they have a very physically demanding job. It's pretty cool, and definitely offers a good combination of the two skill sets.
