I'm 17 and I'm gettin laid off

Today sucked. I found out that the last nine months at my job were for nothing. I literally had made the entire clubhouse at my Golf Course 100% better. They had more buisness, people say that I had been the best Cart Boy there in the last 15 years. Not that it matters now.

The entire golf course is going to be leveled. This is bullshit. Everything I worked hard for there, I did so that it could have a fucking future, just to be bulldozed. Not only that, but to show their great appreciation for my work, Premiere Golf is going to have to fire me. Or lay me off, I guess they had to come up with a better term than being fired.

I'll get over it. Life goes on. It just sucks that it has to go on with a small chunk of my past bulldozed to dirt. I loved that golf course.

Well anyways, I just thought I would bitch alittle bit, post if you ever had anything like this happen to you.

Well, laid off is better than "fired". Laid off gets you unemployment. And if you were that good, then you can look forward to good references. Come on now, you didn't think you were gonna work as a cart boy the rest of your life, did you?

Nonono, that's not why I cared about that job, and that's not why I'm writting this, sorry if I didn't make it clear. I worked hard at this job because I loved the golf course, it was challenging, and everyone who golfs there always comes back. It was turning to crap though, and I wanted to make a mark that I could come back to.

I wanted to do something that would keep the course running for years to come, so that other people could experience it, I don't give a care about good reference's because I have one from my old job. It was just something I could do in my spare time to hopefully make a difference, but that didn't end up working too well.

i worked at a golf course for a year, right out of high school and loved it. cart boy and ran the pro shop. good times. too bad about it getting dozed. days on the course were and are incredible. find another one.

Don't let this one bad experience effect you adversely. At the next Golf Course or employment, give as much as you did here and some day it will all pay off big. It wasn't really for nothing if you improved business and made the customers happy. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey!

Oh, man! That sucks!

I was almost laid off. I heard my company was being sold but I left before it was taken over. Ahaha.

But being laid off at least looks better on your resume, than being fired.

But that definitely doesn't mean that it's a great thing.

Sorry for your loss.

I know the pain of being laid off... at least you learned it early.. now it cannot surprise you anymore... now go... become something bigger and better.. and when the guys you worked for work for you... lay them off!! buahahahaa!
