But if they did, shouldn't it be Democrats only on the ticket?
Since the seat being vacated is held by a democrat, that we voted in, a democrat should be the replacement. If it wasn't for my arrogant governor, a democrat would have been picked. Why should that change?
Buttface...MANY states are broke.
zack...you actually know how Chgo got its' nickname! Most people think it's the weather. But the pols aren't full of air, they are "long winded"
Blago won't step down until he sets himself up financially. He has young kids. But hopefully he will and Pat Quinn will step up as Gov. and appoint a democrat. If you know Quinn, he is very honest and does alot of good for the people of Illinois.

Make the political hacks foot the bill. Those Chi Town Dumbocrats have plenty of ill gotten monies. They sell every political office available in that City. My god man think, this is an excellent opportunity to bring a little dignity to this crime ridden State.

Well yeah it should be a democrat, its Chicago, the Dems run Chicago, why do you think its called the WINDY city? because the politicians are full of air.

I'm not sure if the rules for Illinois force it to be a Democrat to be a replacement. If that is how the rule is written, that's how it shall be.

A better question is, why is the the state broke? Illinois is bewildered with corrupt Democrats who have taken the state to the verge of bankruptcy. What a joke.

One could argue that people voted for the candidate, not the party (although in Chicago I doubt that's true).
