Illegal search after being pulled over? please read?

Okay so i figured you guys should read this and tell me what you think. a few months ago i was pulled over for making an illegal turn in new jersey. He asks for my license and registration. I give him my license and my hands were shaking a bit because i was nervous considering i havnt been pulled over in quite some time.Searching for my registration at this point im looking in the glove box. He then tells me to get out the car and tells his parter to look in the glove box to get my registration out. At which i do and the questions begin. i politely answer and he then tells me my story doesnt make sense? Once again i begin to reiterate my story again and i turn around to see his partner going through the entire front seat of my car AFTER he already gave officer number one my registration. I gave zero consent for him to search my car and after seeing this i told office #1 that "i do not give consent for his partner to go through my car" he replied "I do not need your consent" They found nothing obviously and they let me go. was this an illegal search or not? Did he have probable cause? Might i add the area i was pulled over in had a drug problem and they were in a uncover vehicle. Thanks
