I am a high school student. We have been taking turns in leading our English revision lessons - yesterday was my turn.
When everyone else was quiet and ready to listen, I began to explain the task. But this girl - who was sat right in front of me - kept laughing and talking (v. loudly) about all things irrelevant to the lesson. By the way, the girl is a loud, pretty attention-seeker. Even her friend was quiet and paying attention!
I stopped, and looked at her, with a polite smile on my face. She looked back at me and carried on laughing and talking. I looked at her again and said (a smile still on my face) "I'm sorry, do you mind?". Her reply: "Whaat?" I said again "Do you mind?" She said "But I wasn't even talking."
I did not say anything back to her. This is when the teacher intervened - "Whoever is talking, can you stop it!"
The girl at the front (under her breath, yet loud enough for me to hear): "So bloody rude!"
When I had finished explaining, I came up to her and said:
"I'm sorry if you took offence to what I said earlier. Are you okay?"
She said "Yeh, I'm fine!", without even making any eye-contact.
Should I feel bad?
Thanks
