I'll be honest- if i had 6 hundy cash, I would buy a ps3.

$600 won't get you a PS3-60. You'll need about $800. Figure a game, HDMI cable and tax. Just the tax alone should bring you close to $650. Figure $700 for the PS3, a game and tax. Although $600 will get you a PS3-20, a game & tax. Now thrown in two Blu-ray movies for another $60 plus tax. Then you're looking at $870, $760 or $670. You know you want a few blu-ray movies...

yeah i realized if i really want the 60, i'll also be pciking up an extra controller, resistance...maybe ridge racer... 2 movies...definitely gets the cost up fast especially w/ tax

I wonder how long it'll be before the pirating starts on the PS3? As far as I'm concerned, anyone who can afford a PS3 can afford to pay $60 for a game. There really isn't any reason to go out and burn your own copies of a game, especially if you're copying 20 a year. You'll probably rationalise it that you ain't paying $60 for a 10 hour game. But if it's a 10 hour game then you should be able to rent it and finish it in two sittings. "Oh, but I want it for playing on the internet..." All the more reason to just buy one game and play it on the 'net for at least 30 days before even considering another game.

But you know a lot of you guys are going to do it. You're going to rationalise it by saying that you paid so much for the PS3 that you just don't have enough left over for games.

I don't have cable just so that I can buy a few games a month. Yeah, I'm a sucker.
